COVID Explosion on Flight From Rome to Amritsar

Several media houses have reported that passengers onboard an Air India flight from Rome have tested positive for coronavirus on arrival at Amritsar airport. This is ‘wrong and baseless’, according to the national carrier.

Passengers from high-risk countries, like Italy, must compulsorily be tested for Covid-19 on arrival at Indian airports. Those who test positive will be placed in institutional quarantine for seven days. Here we will discuss about rajkotupdates.news : covid explosion on flight from italy.

Passengers on flight from Italy to Amritsar test positive for coronavirus

Amritsar International Airport Director VK Seth said that 125 passengers on the Italy-Amritsar flight have tested positive for COVID-19. They have been sent to the governmental quarantine facilities.

As a result of the high rate of positivity, India has issued a new advisory to nine states and union territories to ramp up testing for the coronavirus in order to stop it from spreading. It is also urging individuals to remain vigilant in their efforts to stay safe.

On January 5, a chartered Air India flight from Milan arrived in Amritsar with 179 passengers. Out of those, 125 had to be tested for COVID-19 on arrival.

This news comes as health authorities across the country are stepping up screening of all flights arriving from China, as well as passengers on those flights. In response to the Omicron variant of the virus, India has categorized several countries as ‘at risk’ and requires all passengers from China and other high-risk countries to take PCR tests up to 72 hours before they travel.

A total of 255 people, including 125 foreigners on the Milan-Amritsar flight, have been placed under isolation after they tested positive for the virus in Amritsar on Thursday. They are being supervised by state health officials at their respective hometown districts.

However, many of them were not happy with the government’s treatment and alleged that their relatives on the flight had tested negative but upon arrival they got infected. Consequently, they were protesting outside the airport demanding to be allowed to go home.

In order to prevent the spread of the virus, airlines have implemented strict protocols and guidelines, including pre-flight testing, mandatory mask-wearing, social distancing measures, and increased cleaning protocols. While the risk of transmission on a flight remains, these measures are essential to slowing the spread of the virus and ultimately ending the pandemic.

As COVID-19 continues to evolve, it is critical that all governments and healthcare providers implement policies and procedures that will help to protect the public’s health. In addition to vaccinations, these steps include testing for COVID-19 before entering and undergoing isolation once in the country of origin.

Italian Premier Giorgia Meloni has urged the EU to join her country in the implementation of these procedures. She also called on Germany to hold off in its implementation of the procedure until the EU agrees.

The airport has an annual passenger capacity of over 1.46 million. It hosts domestic and international Amritsar flights from all over the world. It also provides a number of services to its passengers, such as free trolleys, VIP rooms, lost & found, restaurants, book store, currency exchange and a lot more.

Various airlines operate from Amritsar Airport including Go First, Singapore Airlines, Jet Airways, Uzbekistan and others. The airport is a major hub in the state of Punjab and serves the capital city of Chandigarh as well.

It has undergone a massive renovation and expansion in the past. It is now a multi-level terminal that can accommodate a large number of passengers at once. The Amritsar International Airport is located at a distance of 28 kilometers from Chandigarh and is also very close to Pakistan, which makes it a very important international gateway for the country.

According to the AAI (Airports Authority of India), Amritsar’s Sri Guru Ram das Jee International Airport is one of the busiest airports in Punjab and is a major gateway for tourists visiting the state. The airport has undergone a series of renovations, such as the construction of a new runway, which is 369 metres long and extends to a total length of 3,658 meters. Amritsar is a major hub for tourism in Punjab and has a variety of tourist attractions to offer, such as the Harmandir Sahib Temple and Jallianwala Bagh. It is also a key place for religious pilgrims, who visit the temple to perform rituals and offer prayers.

However, the city has been witnessing a spike in cases of the coronavirus pandemic. It is being attributed to the Omicron variant of the virus, which has emerged as the dominant strain in big cities.

The Indian government has urged people to get vaccinated against the disease, which kills more than 482,000 people every year. It has also brought back curfews and other restrictions to curb the spread of the virus.

Passengers on the flight from Milan to Amritsar were angered after they were informed about the test results and raised a ruckus in the airport. In the video that went viral on social media, they were seen arguing with the authorities and demanding that they be allowed to leave.

The ruckus lasted for about an hour and was cleared by the airport officials.
